What is pyrogenic silica
Pyrogenic silica, also known as fumed silica manufactured in a flame pyrolysis process, is a thickening and anti-caking agent capable of enhancing the performance, handling and stability of formulations during all aspects of the manufacturing process. The three-dimensional of pyrogenic silica, or fumed silica, induces viscosity-increasing thixotropic behavior when utilized as a thickening agent or reinforcing filler.

Uses and application for pyrogenic silica
Pyrogenic silica uses include adhesives & cements, cosmetics, food additive, free flow agent, gel coats, ink, paint & coatings, pharmaceuticals, polyester resins, pvc cement, sealants, silicone rubber, thixotropic agent, unsaturated polyester resin,
- Personal Care: It is used as an abrasive in scrubs, an absorbent powder, anticaking agent, bulking agent, opacifying agent, and suspending agent.
- Food Industry: It serves as an anticaking agent to avoid clumping. In supplements, it's used to prevent the various powdered ingredients from sticking together.
- Coatings and paints: It is desirable for its chemical inertness which allows for good acid, chemical, and heat resistance. Along with its chemical inertness silica's hardness improves abrasion resistance in paints.
- Others: It is used as anti-setting thickening and anti-sagging agent. It is most efficient in non-polar to medium polarity systems.
