The weather on Friday 16th August failed to dampen Brenntag UK & Ireland’s quest for getting physically active, as the teams across the country geared up for the first ever Brenntag Physical Fitness day.
Part of the ongoing Health & Wellbeing campaign, designed to raise awareness of various aspects of a healthy lifestyle, Brenntag Fitness Day focused on various ways to include physical activity in our daily lives. The day featured the all-inclusive sessions ran by Brenntag employees, giving a taster of various ways to be more active. From short bursts of physical exercises that are easy to fit around the working day routines, to personalised advice on longer term fitness regimes and exchange of information on local sports facilities and clubs available, everyone could join in, regardless of ability and fitness levels:
- Yoga / Tai Chi / body pump
- Plank challenge
- Table tennis
- Standing up meetings
- Lunch time walks
- Football
- Boules
- Static bike dash
- Lunch time run
- Marathons (achieved 84.5 km on the cross-trainer)
- Cycling
- Hula-hoop competitions
Whether training for an upcoming sports related charity day, joining the gym via Gym Flex, getting off the bus one stop early, or walking one’s dog, the teams could get inspiration from their colleagues on making small changes to be more active, one day at a time.
