CAIA - Responsible Care

An association that forms part of a worldwide network of chemical industry associations, CAIA seeks to promote the continuous improvement of performance in the safety, health and environmental arenas.

The CAIA also boosts productivity and competitiveness of the chemical and allied industries in South Africa, thereby enhancing their sustainability.

Members are mainly big and medium size companies drawn from base chemicals, fertilizers, plastics in primary form, pesticides and other agricultural products, explosives and speciality chemicals. CAIA’s primary goals are to promote Responsible Care®, to earn public trust for the chemical industry, to improve the efficiency of its advocacy efforts, to support education initiatives in science, engineering and technology and to create maximum value for member companies.

HPA - the Health products association

The Health Products Association – the most respected and relevant industry authority in Southern Africa. The HPA has been serving South Africa’s health interests since it was founded in 1976.

As the primary voice of the health products industry, the HPA is committed to developing and maintaining standards that support and foster the quality, safety and efficacy of Natural Health Products, Nutritional Dietary Supplements and Complementary and Alternative Medicines (CAMs). The Association strives to establish an ethical, credible, relevant and vibrant health products industry in South Africa.

The HPA plays a crucial role in ensuring the long-term sustainability of this market and works to provide a fertile environment for industry growth. To achieve this the HPA has developed Self-regulatory Codes of Practice and Standards, and guides members in correct practice and procedures.

About CTFA

To support and develop a sustainable and respected South African Cosmetic Industry by proactively stimulating actions and developing tools that contribute to its growth and the progress of its Members’ while promoting consumer safety.

  • Promote social responsibility through the activities of the Look Good Feel Better programme.
