The Brenntag Food & Nutrition business unit in North America, part of the Brenntag Group, signs a new agreement with Vitalus Nutrition Inc. for the distribution of VITAGOS™ in the United States and Canada.

Vitalus Nutrition focuses on unlocking the nutritional value of milk and transforming its components into ingredients used in nutritional food and beverage applications, like VITAGOS™. VITAGOS™, a galacto-oligosaccharide (GOS) containing syrup, is accepted as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) for its intended uses in the United States. GOS is a non-digestible carbohydrate produced from lactose which is used as a prebiotic and dietary fiber.

“We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Vitalus Nutrition as their exclusive distributor for VITAGOS™ Galacto Oligosaccharides (GOS) in the United States and Canada,” said Larry Davis, Vice President of Brenntag Food & Nutrition North America. “With new research confirming that a healthy gut microbiome has such a strong impact on overall health, expanding our product line is crucial to meeting growing consumer demand in this area. Our sales and applications team look forward to incorporating GOS into our product line, while also providing technical support and product development to our customers.”

“We are excited to work in collaboration with Brenntag Food & Nutrition to expand our reach in North America,” said Phil Vanderpol, President and CEO of Vitalus Nutrition.

VITAGOS™ can be used in a wide range of food and beverage formulations as an ingredient for healthy aging and active lifestyle applications. It is also used for infant formula and baby food.
