SolPerForm™ 100
SolPerForm™ 100 is a film-forming polymer developed by Croda, designed to enhance the efficacy of UV filters in oil-in-water (O/W) sunscreen formulations. It is a crosspolymer composed of hydrolyzed wheat protein and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), produced through a free radical polymerization process. This unique structure allows it to improve the distribution of active ingredients over the skin without compromising the skin feel. By forming a uniform film, SolPerForm™ 100 boosts the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) and UVA protection factor by enhancing the stability and performance of UV filters. Typically, a concentration of 2% is sufficient to achieve a significant increase in SPF, with improvements ranging from 30% to 70%. Unlike many other film-forming agents, it leaves no sticky after-feel, ensuring a pleasant sensory experience for the user. SolPerForm™ 100 is compatible with both organic and inorganic UV filters and is suitable for various applications, including sun care, skin care, and color cosmetics.
