Water is our most important resource, and Brenntag understands that not everyone in the world has access to clean and safe water. As a part of our sustainability efforts, we have chosen to work alongside Water For People as an opportunity to help provide safe water and sanitation to those who need it the most.
What is Water For People?
Water For People is an international nonprofit that works across 9 different countries to bring safe water and sanitation to 4 million people. There are over 2 billion people around the world that do not have access to safe water and over 4 billion people that do not have access to adequate sanitation. Women and children spend more than four hours walking for water each day, and more than 840,000 people die each year from water-related diseases.
It's not just about building wells, installing toilets, and setting up pumps, but about creating long-term, sustainable change. Water For People makes sure to talk to community members, governments, and business owners to find out what they need to feel healthy, safe, and empowered. Then Water For People builds capacity from the ground up and top-down, changing entire systems so they won’t have to be around forever – but water and sanitation services will last for generations to come.
Water For People exists to promote the development of high-quality drinking water and sanitation services, accessible to all, and sustained by strong communities, businesses, and governments. We're working to reach Everyone Forever.
Millions of people around the world don't have access to safe water and sanitation.
