Methyl Alcohol uses includes antifreeze, chemical intermediate, cleaning fluids, dimethyl terephthalate, fondue fuel, formaldehyde, fuel, gasoline additive, glass cleaners, methyl methacrylate, methylamines, mtbe, natural gas dehydration, paint strippers, race car fuel, solvent, window cleaner, windshield washer fluid.

  • Adhesives and Coatings: Methanol is used as a solvent and as an intermediate in chemical synthesis
  • Pharmaceutical Industry: It is used as a solvent in the manufacture of cholesterol, streptomycin, vitamins, hormones, and other pharmaceuticals.
  • Paper and pulp: Methanol and sodium chlorate are used to produce chlorine dioxide, a bleaching agent for the paper and pulp industry
