Hexion Diluents and Modifiers
HELOXY Modifiers are epoxy functionalized alcohols, diols, polyols and acids. Hexion offers three classes of HELOXY Modifiers: polyfunctional flexibilizers, monofunctional glycidyl ethers and polyfunctional glycidyl ethers.
|Heloxy 71||Improves impact strength and toughness as an epoxy flexibilizer. Provides resistance to thermal shock.|
|Heloxy 505||Imparts flexibility, impact and thermal shock resistance. High peel strength for adhesives. Lower odor and lower volatility.|
|Monofunctional Glycidyl Ethers|
|Heloxy 8||Superior diluent efficiency, with good elongation characteristics. Very good substrate and filler wetting. Lower odor.|
|Heloxy 61||A commercial grade of butyl glycidyl ether. Widely used in the viscosity reducing modification.|
|Heloxy 62||Efficient diluent with retention of tensile characteristics, and moisture/chemical resistance. Lower volatility.|
|Heloxy 65||Moderate dilution efficiency with superior moisture and chemical resistance.|
|Heloxy 116||A commercial grade of 2-ethylhexyl glycidyl ether. Widely used in the viscosity reducing modification.|
|Polyfunctional Glycidyl Ethers|
|Heloxy 48||Trifunctionality increases crosslink density. Moderate dilution efficiency. Retention of HDT and tensile properties.|
|Heloxy 67||Is primarily used as a reactive diluent or viscosity reducer for all classes of epoxy resins.|
|Heloxy 68||Difunctional with very good viscosity reduction. Maintains most cured state properties and improves wetting.|
|Heloxy 107||Is primarily used as a reactive diluent or viscosity reducer for all classes of epoxy resins. It can also serve as a reactive intermediate for further synthesis of various cycloaliphatic based resins.|
