The enhanced version of iso 9001: 2015 is the most recent version of this standard, issued in september 2015. the standard was supplemented with new sections, some chapters were combined, but the basis remained unchanged (combined versions of iso 9001, iso 9002 and iso 9003 from 1994-2008). the new version combines the successful “process approach” with a new core concept of “risk-based thinking” to prioritize processes using the plan-do-check-act cycle - pdca on all levels of the organization in order to manage processes and the system as a whole and create a basis for improvement.
This standard is based on a number of quality management principles such as strong customer focus, management motivation and involvement, a process approach and continuous improvement. the application of iso 9001 helps to ensure that customers receive consistently quality products and services.
