IFS FOOD AND IFS LOGISTICS
THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF QUALITY AND SAFETY IN BRENNTAG POLSKA
The growing cunsumer awareness in the aspect of food safety, and thus the requirements for food producers resulted in growing demand for ensuring the highest level of quality and safety. Increasing production risks and globalization of the supply chains makes every entity in the logistics chain strive to meet the highest standards of services. Meeting only the HACCP system requirements may not be enough these days.
In our daily activities we approach the topic of food safety comprehensively - we pay attention, among others on potential risks. We are proud to obtain confirmation of the highest quality standards of our services by IFS Food and IFS Logistics certification. As a result of successfully completed audits, our company received IFS Logistics certificates for our sites in Zgierz, Jankowice, Żabno and Góra Kalwaria as well as IFS Food certificates for production plants and laboratories in Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Zgierz.
WHAT IS THE IFS STANDARD?
IFS is an international safety standard used by suppliers as well as food producers and food processing companies. International Featured Standards (IFS) was developed by trade organizations from Germany, France and Italy and is approved by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) to enable the assessment of food safety and quality systems at suppliers in a uniform manner and ensure comparability and transparency throughout the supply chain.
The activities undertaken by the GFSI non-profit foundation are aimed at reducing duplication of certification by accepting the standards on the list of foundations. In the list of standards recognized by GFSI we can find, among others, BRC Global Standard (BRCGS) or IFS (International Featured Standards). Requirements necessary for the proper implementation of the IFS standard are very restrictive. One of the conditions is to have an efficient HACCP system, as well as production control along with procedures for waste management, allergen control, critical analyzes carried out to improve product safety or pest control. IFS certificates are confirmation of proper, systematic analysis and supervision of all food-related production processes.
STANDARD IFS LOGISTICS
The international standard for transport and storage IFS Logistics was established in 2003 for companies providing storage, transport, packaging and distribution of food and non-food products. Currently, it is becoming a requirement for cooperation with many trade companies, mainly from Germany and France. The goal of the IFS Logistics standard is to ensure the safety and integrity of products by logistics companies throughout the chain by:
- systematization of activities related to logistics of consumer goods,
- increasing food safety throughout the entire supply chain,
- integrating risk procedures and preventive measures in the aspect of product safety and legality,
- implementation of effective communication with all sides of the supply chain,
- increased trust of contractors, customers, suppliers and controlling units.
