The origins of Brenntag Mexico date back to the early 1990s, where social development and industrial growth conditions formed the ideal setting for the establishment of the Mexican branch located in the North America region.
Brenntag Mexico was founded in 1992 in the municipality of Tultitlán, State of Mexico. At the beginning of its operations, the company has to pave its way and start building new commercial relationships with Mexican companies. Sales increased gradually so by the end of the 1990s, Brenntag Mexico already had achieved an important participation in the Mexican market. Between 2005 and 2010, Brenntag Mexico has an extraordinary growth in sales. It allows the acquisition in 2009 of Austro Corp, a company dedicated to the sale of food sector materials, thereby achieving the incursion of Brenntag in the Mexican food market and strengthening its position within the pharmaceutical, gas and oil field. When Austro Corp was acquired, it already had a solid technical experience of 29 years in the market, an extensive product portfolio and an important national recognition. All these elements were strategic in Brenntag's global expansion plans, which is why the acquisition of Austro Corp was perfect and was an important watershed in the development of Brenntag Mexico. In 2011 Amco International joins the group to consolidate Brenntag Mexico as one of the leading companies in the distribution of food grade raw materials.
This also allows the incursion into the flavors and fragrances business in Latin America, as well as the creation of a wider extensive products portfolio and service level excellence. In subsequent years, Brenntag Mexico continued to strengthen and consolidate itself as one of the main distributors of raw materials and/or chemical products for several industrial sectors. The company's success allowed the opening of new branches in Tijuana, Ciudad Juárez, Guadalajara, Apodaca, Villahermosa and Querétaro.
It’s thanks to this that it was able to expand its commercial coverage nationally. In 2008, Brenntag Mexico closed its facilities in Tultitlán and resumed operations in the Industrial Park of San Martín Obispo municipality of Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico. Due to its location, size and number of available materials, this branch is consolidated as one of the main offices along with the Querétaro branch located in the O'Donnell Airport Industrial Park.
In 2017, the corporate offices are inaugurated in Lomas de Chapultepec, Miguel Hidalgo City Hall and Mexico City. Offices in which Brenntag Mexico commercial operations are centered. Brenntag Mexico's operations mainly meet the needs of the following markets: food, pharmaceutical, personal care, cleaning products, paints, coatings, adhesives, oil, gas, chemical agricultural products, rubber, polymers and water treatment chemicals.
