The ESAD assessment is part of our continuing program on providing assurance on quality across the UK and Ireland network which has recently cumulated with FEMAS accreditation for 13 sites and the BRC A grade certification for our dedicated food facility in Widnes in 2012.
ESAD (the European Single Assessment Document) was developed by a joint export group (CEFIC and FECC) and provides a voluntary assessment system to evaluate the quality, safety and security and environmental performance of chemical distributors. A single assessment is carried out by independent auditors using a standard questionnaire. The single assessment avoids the need for distributors to undergo multiple assessment by chemical producers. The audit is also used by distributors to check their compliance to the eight guiding principles of Responsible Care.
ESAD is part of a SQAS programme; objectivity, neutrality, transparency and free access to the system for the user of the chemical industry. The SQAS distributor / ESAD assessment questionnaire consists of four parts;
- Distributor standard activities (Di)
- Site assessment (S)
- Chlorinated solvents (Cs)
- Food, Cosmetics or/and Pharma (F)
Listed below are the results of the assessment for sites within the Brenntag UK & Ireland network.
