Elementis Specialties has a diverse portfolio of non-ionic surfactants based upon ethoxylated fatty alcohols or fatty acids. Nonionics are chosen for their good compatibility with a wide variety of systems and they form the basis of many agrochemical formulations.
The Elementis range of nonionics can also be used to further adjust the hydrophilic/lypophilic balance to better fit to specific needs of formulators. Moreover EO/PO block copolymers are also utilised for their low foaming characteristics and can provide additional retention properties.
Non-ionics can be used as the sole emulsifier in a system. However they are often combined with anionics like sulphates, sulfosuccinates or phosphate esters to enhance their overall performance.
Elementis produce a range of amine ethoxylates based on different fatty amines. Fatty amine ethoxylates show a slightly cationic behaviour under pH 6-7, a pH condition where many active ingredients are stable. The amine ethoxylates can be used in adjuvant tank-mix formulations as excellent wetting agents, emulsifiers and compatibilizers for glyphosate.
