BROWSER COOKIES
Cookies are used by the Brenntag website to keep track of user sessions. A cookie (also called a web cookie, internet cookie, browser cookie or simply cookie) is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on the user's computer by the user's browser while the user is using the browser, often to store your preferences for a website such as your preferred language or location and/or information that helps you access a website without having to log in. In fact, cookies tell the website that your browser has been on the website before.
Depending on your consent choice for browser cookies on your first visit to Brenntag's websites, Brenntag uses tracking cookies, third-party cookies and other technologies (e.g. web beacons) to process additional information, enable secondary core functions on Brenntag's website and enable referred third-party functions (such as a link for social media sharing).
If you do not want a cookie to be placed on your computer in general or as a result of using a Brenntag website, you can disable cookies altogether by changing the preferences section of your browser. Please note that if you do so, some aspects of the Brenntag website may be unavailable to you. If you choose to accept cookies on your hard drive, but want to be informed about the use of cookies on your visited websites, you can activate a warning message by changing the cookie warning section, also found in the preferences section of your browser. In most cases, browser cookies used by Brenntag are session-based and therefore only last for the duration of the user's session, but in some cases Brenntag uses persistent browser cookies that remain on your hard disk and provide information about the session you are in and wait for the next time you use this site again.
This provides useful information to Brenntag to recognize frequent users, facilitate user access to and use of the website, and allow a website to track usage behavior which helps Brenntag to improve content. Such cookies are only used for this purpose and are not used to identify users or track their use of other websites.
The following cookies will only start once you have given your consent via the cookie banner:
- Purpose: distinguish between users. Deletion after 2 years

WEB BEACONS
Brenntag may use "web beacon" technology on Brenntag websites or in marketing emails to track pages viewed or messages opened, the date and time you visited our website, the website you came from, the type of browser you use, the type of operating system you use, and the domain name and address of your internet service provider.
Web beacon is the use of various techniques used on web pages or email to discreetly (usually invisibly) verify that a user has accessed the content. Common uses are email tracking and page tagging for web analytics. Alternative names are web bug, tracking bug, tag, pixel tag, single-pixel GIFs or page tag.
TURN TRACKING OFF (DNT)
Brenntag's web servers will respect your decision to opt-out of our and third parties' tracking services, including behavioral advertising. This opt-out will be subject to your use of the DNT (Do Not Track) setting in your browser, but due to technological limitations, websites do not respond to DNT consumer browser settings. Currently, there is no solid mechanism to guarantee DNT consumer browser settings on commercial websites.
GOOGLE ANALYTICS
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers, usually in the USA, but possibly also in member states of the European Union. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to and shortened by Google servers in the USA. Here you can find more detailed information on terms of use and data protection: Google Privacy Policy under Google Analytics Terms of Service .
Google Analytics is explained in more detail under the following link Google Analytics . Please note that this website initializes Google Analytics with the option "gat._anonymizeIp();" to ensure anonymized recording by masking the last part of your IP addresses (IP masking).
GOOGLE TAG MANAGER
This website uses Google Tag Manager. Google Tag Manager is a solution that allows marketers to manage website tags from applications like Google Analytics through a single surface/interface. The Tool Tag Manager itself (which implements the tags) is a cookie-free domain and does not collect personal data.
The tool triggers other tags, which can then collect data under certain circumstances. Google Tag Manager does not have access to this data. If deactivation has been made at the domain or cookie level, such deactivation remains in effect for all tracking tags implemented with Google Tag Manager.
