Brenntag Nordic has reached an agreement about being partner in Food Innovation House
At Brenntag Nordic, we are excited to announce our partnership with the new and innovative project Food Innovation House. Food Innovation House is a new project focusing on further developing the Danish food industry through innovative solutions, marketing and development of new products - national as well as international.
A 3,000 m2 large building has been built for the purpose and it is expected that the building will have 5,000 visitors annually. The ambition is that Food Innovation House will be a national center for attention to everyone with a connection to the Danish food industry. It is meant as a place, where people across the industry can meet, develop, network and exchange ideas.
The House provides a variety of facilities for its partners and is a place where partners can get advice and find knowledge on everything within the food industry. For instance, Food Innovation House provides facilities such as a development-bakery and development-kitchen where users can develop new products or use it in relation to educational purposes. The House also feature a demo-restaurant and a “mini market” where partners can test ideas and receive feedback on new products. Moreover, the House host a taste panel, where partners can get their product evaluated and tested by users and consumers. In short, partners at the Food Innovation House can get help throughout the entire process - from development of ideas to the release of new products.
Besides being a place to develop and test products, Food Innovation House provides facilities for business development such as space for exhibitions and fairs where partners can invite business partners, retailers, distributors, consumers etc. The House also offers the opportunity of hosting conferences, workshops, lectures from experts and meetings. All in all, Food Innovation House is a concept, where partners don’t only get to develop products, but also their business and with that the entire Danish food industry.
One of the pillars behind the concept is networking, and to the House is connected to larger networks: Madværket, an organization with 50 members, including 30 small producers, 12 chefs, 6 restaurants and 5 designers, contributes with a dedication and excitement towards ensuring that local products, new gastronomy and culinary experiences always is a top priority. Fødevareklubben, an organization with almost 400 members, is one of the largetst, unofficial food sector networks. Members of the network are working together with the purpose of developing the Danish food industry, primary by sharing knowledge and experience.
Gitte Brøndum, representative from Fødevarerklubben, explains “We are truly looking forward to being a part of the innovations- and development environment, that the Food Innovation House offers. This is exactly the purpose of our network: to strengthen our members businesses and communicate knowledge and experiences about relevant topics based upon the food industry and the companies surrounding it. Food Innovation House is a perfect fit for our mission.”
Besides having these two strong networks connected to the project, Food Innoation House is also collaborating with two partners within the public sector: Agro Business and Madkulturen. Agro Business Park is an organization with a large network within the research community and a lot of experience in running incubator- and innovative projects. Madkulturen is a self-governing institution under the Ministry of Environment and Food working on ‘Better food for everyone’. Hopefully collaborating with the public sector will help put the food industry and food culture on the political and national agenda.
In Brenntag Nordic we are excited about the idea and concept of Food Innovation House and we are more than pleased to be a part of it. Together with specialists within the respective categories and with other, strong brands, we expect to develop our business industry further. We are constantly trying to optimize and develop our business, and we believe that the Food Innovation House will contribute in that way.
