Brenntag, the global market leader in chemical distribution, has joined the initiative “Together for Sustainability” (TfS). TfS was set up in 2011 by six leading multinational chemical companies. Its goal is to establish a standardized global programme for the responsible procurement of goods and services in the chemical industry and to improve ecological and social standards at supplier companies. Brenntag is the first chemical distributor in the initiative that so far only includes chemical manufacturers.
The company operates internationally to the highest environmental and safety standards. For several years adheres to the principles the Responsible Care, in 2014 joined to United Nations Global Compact. Brenntag actively engages with EcoVadis, an international assessment company for sustainability performance.
Rüdiger Ebarhard, President TfS says: “As the global market leader in chemical distribution, Brenntag is an important link in the supply chain and will help to improve the sustainability performance of the industry as a whole. We are delighted to welcome Brenntag at TfS, and we are confident that Brenntag will meet the high standards for a TfS membership.”
“TfS provides us with an ideal platform to improve the supply chain in the area of sustainability. A global assessment programme is fundamental to the long term success and future development of sustainability for both, our customers and suppliers,” says Karsten Beckmann, CEO Brenntag EMEA.
