Staley to replace Thompson at the top of Brenntag Canada

Reading, PA - Brenntag North America, Inc has announced David M. Thompson, President of its subsidiary Brenntag Canada, plans to retire from the business effective December 31, 2006.

Michael W. Staley, who currently serves as Executive Vice President of Brenntag Canada, will take on the role of President upon Thompson’s retirement.

Staley joined Brenntag Canada, relocating to Toronto, earlier this year. He previously served as Vice President of Sales for Brenntag Mid-South, another subsidiary of Brenntag North America based in Henderson, KY. Mike has been with the company in various sales and management positions since 1985 and is a graduate of DePaul University in Greencastle, IN with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry.

Thompson spent the past 26 years with the company and its predecessors, the past eight years as President. He has held a variety of positions including Business Development Manager, Business Director Western Canada and Business Director Ontario. Under his leadership the company successfully transitioned from HCI to Brenntag ownership and is well positioned to continue its impressive record of profitable growth in Canada’s major resource and industrial markets. Dave served as a Director of the Canadian Association of Chemical Distributors and attended Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Chemistry.
