Brenntag acquires the Packed & Specialty Ethanol business from Cargill

On September 15th, 2015, Brenntag in the Benelux acquired Cargill’s small pack specialty business in food and pharma grade alcohol, serving customers in cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food & beverages sectors in the Netherlands and Belgium. These products will be further commercialised under the brand name “Nedalco”.
By entering into a long term supply agreement, Cargill and Brenntag continue to strengthen their already successful business relationship.
Karsten Beckmann, Member of the Board of Management of Brenntag Group: “With the acquisition of Cargill’s small pack activities in food and pharma grade alcohol Brenntag is increasing its portfolio in the very attractive life science market by offering favourable solutions for applications that require efficacious disinfection based on environmental friendly biocides. This is a further step in Brenntag’s strategy to expand our portfolio and strengthen our position in the life science business.”
The divestment is in line with Cargill’s strategy to focus its resources on the production and commercialization of ethanol for large scale food and industrial applications.
