Bentonite
Bentonite is a native hydrated colloidal aluminum silicate clay. It is an absorbent swelling clay consisting mostly of montmorillonite. It has various applications from use in drilling mud to binder, purifier, absorbent, and carrier for fertilizers or pesticides. Minor uses include filler, sealant, and catalyst in petroleum refining.
