The Federal Cartel Office has, according to its press release today, classified the continuation of the Joint Venture CVH Chemie-Vertrieb GmbH & Co. KG, Hannover, as not compliant with the law. Brenntag cannot comprehend the procedure of the Federal Cartel Office. The joint venture CVH was duly declared 16 years ago to the Federal Cartel Office for legal merger control, was approved after being diligently reviewed and since then has been active in the market.
Brenntag does not agree with the assessment of the Federal Cartel Office in any of the presented facts and will file an appeal. We are confident that the decision will not stand.
The Joint Venture CVH contributes around 1 % to Brenntag’s European business.
