Brenntag in Romania

The activities of Brenntag in Romania started on July 5, 1998 when Holland Chemical International opened HCl Chemicals Romania SRL with only 4 employees at that time. The company grew rapidly and in 2000 it counted 15 representatives in all major cities. This acquisition has also facilitated the diversification of the product portfolio for the food industry.

In 2001 Brenntag AG took over Holland Chemical International in a global transaction and implicitly HCI Chemicals Romania, which later became Brenntag Romania SRL.

The development process accelerated and in 2006 the company changed and the emphasis put on human resource development and presence in all industrial applications relevant in carrying products and services closer to customers by opening small local deposits (Iasi, Cluj, Oradea, Timisoara, Galati, Craiova, Buzau, Sibiu, Constanta, Brasov, Pitesti). New divisions were established and existing divisions within the company were reinforced.

In 2005 Brenntag acquired an industrial site in Romania Chiajna, which became also the headquarters and central warehouse of the company in Romania.
