What is Hexane

Hexane is a complex mixture of aliphatic hydrocarbons obtained by the hydrogenation of a petroleum fraction that consists primarily of normal, isoparaffinic and cycloparaffinic C6 hydrocarbons. Hexane has five isomers, which are: hexane, 2-methylpentane, 3-methylpentane, 2,2-dimethylbutane, and 2,3-dimethylbutane.
