Human resource development in Austria
The corporate principles of Brenntag place a great deal of importance on developing human resources. This includes the targeted advancement and development of our employees. For us, human resource development is about giving our employees and managers practical support from the outset and accompanying you along your way. The most important elements are:
Onboarding process with a personal induction plan
Our onboarding process is aimed at ensuring a quick, informative introduction into our company and a positive integration into the team. We work in close coordination with the managers to support our new employees with a personalised induction plan and a comprehensive welcome pack. An important element of this programme is the “Welcome Day”, at which they can learn about our company, its history, principles, products and vision and have the opportunity to chat with colleagues from other areas of the business.
Appraisals and target-setting meetings
A key component of human resource development is the annual appraisal. This forms the basis of purposeful and structured human resource development and is one of the most important management tools in the company. Meetings are also held at the beginning of each year to agree and evaluate job-specific and personal targets.
Training and development
We invest in the future and competencies of our employees through a host of training and development programmes. Internal and external courses for all employees are offered based on the results of the annual appraisals. These include professional training in the areas of IT, chemistry and finance, specific training for buying and sales, language courses or personality development courses. A large pool of motivated trainers (internal and external) and numerous case studies ensure the direct integration of the training content into the work process. In addition to these training programmes, there are personal development measures, customised courses for specific groups of employees, on-the-job training, job rotations or the future e-Learning training courses, all of which provide a good mix of methods and add diversity to our human resource development programme.
We depend on our employees!
