As you are no doubt aware, the Coronavirus situation is fast-evolving and is causing disruptions to global supply chain operations for many businesses, which may include our suppliers and logistics providers - the disruptions are primarily as a result of certain decisions by the Chinese national and local governments related to the shutdown of industrial production in China or to the delay in resumption of work in certain areas.
Kindly note that, at Brenntag Asia-Pacific, we have formed a task force to specifically investigate and manage the business implications of the Coronavirus situation, with two priorities at heart:
1) To safeguard the health and safety of our employees and their families; and
2) To minimize the impact of the Coronavirus situation on our customers’ supply chain.
As at the date hereof, whilst we have yet to be notified of any specific delays or inability to supply products to us by our suppliers, we expect that any extended closures of industrial production facilities in China could result in logistics delays of chemical products manufactured in China.
Brenntag Asia-Pacific and its affiliates are reaching out to its suppliers with China based manufacturing and those with supply chains that rely on China output, and consolidating that data – should it become apparent that there will be any supply chain related issues impacting your business, we will endeavour to inform you as soon as practicable and to communicate with you regarding the subsequent steps.
