Our e-business activities enable us to offer customers and suppliers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for the more effective and cost-efficient handling of joint processes with our partners - from small enterprises all the way through to multinational companies. This portfolio consists of

• Direct electronic connection with customers, suppliers and logistics service providers based on EDI industry standards enabling B2B communication between ERP systems.

• Connections using the electronic hub ELEMICA (www.elemica.com). Elemica helps customers and suppliers in the chemical industry to optimize and speed up the flow of information between companies. The network supports not only ordering and payment processes but also the handling of logistics and supply chain management. In contrast to Internet-based marketplaces, Elemica is not designed to promote the acquisition of new business but is geared towards supporting existing business relationships. More than 1,500 companies are meanwhile linked up to Elemica, including almost all the well-known chemical producers. Brenntag joined the Elemica network in May 2002 and has since been able to optimize its B2B network both in the USA and in most of the countries of Europe.

• Customer portals in the US (http://www.brenntag.cc) and Canada (http://www.brenntag.ca/en/popups/buyOnline.html). Theses Portals provide secure real time access for customer to their information.  Once registered with a user name and password, one can access the sites to:
  • Place orders on-line
  • Review status of open orders
  • Duplicate a previous order
  • Request Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Generate and download dynamic reports
  • Contact your local Sales Representative

Brenntag will continue to develop its e-business capabilities to further improve the collaborative business processes with the Brenntag business partners along the supply chain of chemical products.
