Supervisory Board
Stefan Zuschke (Chairman of the supervisory board)Stefan Zuschke joined the supervisory board on March 3, 2010. He joined BC Partners in 1993 from Equimark, a Munich based buy-out firm, where he worked for three years on several German buy-outs and monitored investments. Previously he worked for the management consulting firm of Cresap Telesis, spent two years with Mercedes-Benz in Germany and Spain and completed a two-year commercial banking programme at the Landesgirokasse in Stuttgart. He has a degree in business administration from the Fachhochschule Reutlingen and the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid. He speaks German, Spanish, English and French. Stefan Zuschke is chairman of the Presiding and Nomination Committee.
Stephen Clark
Stephen Clark joined the supervisory board on June 22, 2011. He joined Brenntag in 1981 and has been a Brenntag board member since 1993. Since 2006 Stephen Clark was the Chief Executive Officer of Brenntag until 2011. From 1990 until 2006 he was the President & Chief Executive Officer of Brenntag North America, Inc.
Prof. Dr Edgar Fluri
Prof. Dr Edgar Fluri joined the supervisory board on March 28, 2010. He spent his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers Switzerland where he was a Partner, Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Management Committee and from 1998 to 2008 Chairman of the Board of Directors. He was also a member of the Global Board of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Since 2008 he has been active as business advisor and besides Brenntag AG now holds mandates as a member of the boards of directors of Nobel Biocare Holding AG (Zurich) and Orior AG (Zurich). He has been a part-time lecturer in public accounting and auditing at the University of Basel since 1987 and was appointed titular professor in 1997. He is a Swiss Certified Public Accountant and has a doctorate in economics and business administration from the University of Basel. Prof. Dr Edgar Fluri is chairman of the Audit Committee.
Dr Thomas Ludwig (Deputy Chairman of the supervisory board)
Dr Thomas Ludwig joined the supervisory board on March 28, 2010. He joined Lindsay Goldberg Vogel GmbH in January 2010 from Kloeckner & Co SE, a German M-Dax company, where he worked for six years as CEO of the company. Previously he worked for ThysssenKrupp in the distribution and services division for eights years, last position as CEO of ThyssenKrupp Serv AG. Before he spent ten years in different divisions of Kloeckner & Co SE and five 5 years in the steel division of Kloeckner Werke AG. He went to the universities Göttingen, Freiburg, Glasgow and Bonn and has a degree in Mathematics and a doctorate in business administration from the University Bonn. Dr Thomas Luwig is member of the Presiding and Nomination Committee.
Doreen Nowotne
Doreen Nowotne joined the supervisory board on March 3, 2010. She joined BC Partners in 2002 from UBS Capital, where she spent over two years in the German private equity team. Prior to this, she spent three years with Arthur Andersen in Munich, leading teams for annual audits as well as for financial due diligence investigations. She has a degree in business administration from the University of Applied Sciences Dresden and participated in the Programme for Executive Development at IMD Lausanne in 2001. She speaks German and English. Doreen Nowotne is member of the Audit Committee.
Dr Andreas Rittstieg
Dr Andreas Rittstieg joined the supervisory board on March 28, 2010. He is a founding partner of RITTSTIEG Rechtsanwälte, a corporate law boutique focussing on M&A transactions which was established in 2000. Previously he was partner of the law firm Bruckhaus Westrick Heller Löber (today: Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer). He studied law at the universities of Bochum, Geneva and Bonn and practised as visiting attorney with reputable law firms in Los Angeles and Tokyo. On 1 October 2010 Rittstieg joined Gleiss Lutz which is one of the leading full-service law firms in Germany. He speaks German, English and French. Dr Andreas Rittstieg is member of the Presiding and Nomination Committee.
